Know yourself: One avenue for exploring major and career options is through interest and personality assessments. They are designed to identify your skills, interests, and strengths as well as majors and occupations that may be a good fit for you. Other aspects to consider during this process are: academic performance, values, extra-curricular interests, and work experience. Our professional staff will help you consider all of these as you begin the process of exploration.

Explore major/career options: Compile a list of majors and occupations that have ever appealed to you including those which come from the assessments you've completed. This is a time to broaden your opportunities, not narrow them. No option is out of the question so think big! Now use the resources below to learn more about the majors and occupations that interest you.

Take your time: The process of choosing a major/career field is different for each individual. We strongly encourage you to take the time to reflect on this important decision. It may take more than a semester of active research and consideration to make a thoughtful decision.

Find your best fit: As you learn more about majors, occupations, and yourself, you will begin to narrow your options. Over time, you'll find that you are ready to make a choice.
